China's BSN Blockchain Project Announces New Portals in Turkey and Uzbekistan
China’s massive BSN blockchain project was built to provide affordable access to various blockchain technologies both internally within China and as an extension to foreign governments. BSN was founded by the Chinese government's State Information Center (SIC) along with Red Date, China Mobile and China UnionPay. The BSN is a cross-cloud, cross-portal, cross-framework global infrastructure network that can be used to deploy and operate all types of blockchain apps.
The initiative is now expanding on the promise to make the technology available across national borders. The project recently set up two new portals in Turkey and Uzbekistan. Red Date, which is the architect behind the BSN project, has announced an agreement with the Turkish Chinese Business Matching Center (TUCEM) for the portals, which are expected to become operational later this year. TUSEM is an economic cooperation hub for business between China and Turkey.
“Turkey has long played a role as a bridge between Asia and Europe and so it is fitting that the first BSN portal outside of Asia will be launched there,” said Yifan He, CEO of Red Date Technology and executive director of the BSN Development Association, in a statement.
Mehmet Akfirat, president of TUCEM and head of BSN Turkey, said that the BSN’s Turkish portal aims to foster social development and improved financial inclusion for more of the populace.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Akfirat noted that BSN doesn’t choose the locations for its international portals. “As long as we have good local partners in some regions, we don't really mind where they are,” the exec said, adding that BSN is also talking to potential partners from the United States, Europe and Australia.
In early September, BSN announced the launch of a Hong Kong and Macau portal that is expected to contribute to the development of more than 30 new blockchain projects. BSN also plans to set up an international BSN portal in South Korea in November of this year.
